Whelan 'Don't Think About Purple Elephants' was shortlisted in the Australian speech Pathology Award in 2016 and placed on the Premiers Reading Challenge in NSW in 2017. More illustrated picture books include The Great Sock Secret, Patch and Ruby, and Dance with Me, released October 2016 and The Chalk Rainbow in 2017.
Gwynneth's 'thing' is to draw live for kids, and has at events including Newcastle Writers Festival, CBCA Lunch with the Stars and at school visits. She exhibits in galleries,cafes and hospital corridors and sells through markets and Etsy.
