Media/Technique: Gouache, Digital

Alisa Perks creates her illustrations primarily in gouache paint, digitally enhanced. Her style is cartoon-like Pop Art, and is also inspired by poster art of the 1930's. She uses this style to create children's picture book scenes and characters, and she has a fascination for urban imagery and architecture. Her artwork often contains quirky humour and satire. It is a rich tertiary coloured style, at times using unlikely colour schemes to depict scenes. Outlines are often bold, creating striking, clear-cut shapes in her work.
